Description
The Reluctant Readers & Writers class is designed to introduce a variety of short stories, poems, and writing prompts to help engage readers and writers who may not yet have a love of reading and/or writing. (Suggested ages 9-11)
Each 50-minute class session will contain:
- a short, attention-grabbing, book-related activity
- reading time
- book discussion time
- writing time
Each class is capped at 7 students to ensure that every student gets an opportunity to participate.
This year’s book list includes the following books:
I’m Just No Good at Rhyming and Other Nonsense
The One Thing You’d Save (week 1)
When Stars Are Scattered (week 2)
You can purchase the books on your own, check them out from the library, or choose to bundle them with this course and have them shipped directly to you.
**Please do not give the books to your child in advance as some of our exercises will involve making predictions before we read each story and while we are reading together.**
